Hidden in the Woods

West of Ocala, on Hwy 326, there is a small sketch of a town called Morriston. It is surrounded by woods. We spotted this "hidden" truck amidst the bushes and trees maybe 50 yards off the road as we slowed down in our approach to the wee burg.

I'd like to think it is trying (unsuccessfully) to hide because it was involved in various nefarious activities. Perhaps the truck hauled moonshine during Prohibition, and even though it isn't old enough to have done that, the movie playing in my head insists it is guilty of being an accomplice to the violation of the Volstead Act and that is why it is in hiding!

I hope it gets nominated for an Academy Award.  I mean c'mon, movies deal in fantasy not reality, right?

If the truck managed to prevent Leonardo DiCaprio from winning an Oscar, I'd be all for it.

Hmmm….now you have me wondering.

That truck surely is hard to explain.

And, the Promenade is a high end shopping center at one of the entrances to Bonita Bay off route 41 (the Tamiami Trail). It has the curse and the blessing of being hidden from the road by lots of trees, which (curse) prevents casual shoppers from seeing it and stopping there on impulse, but (blessing) gives it a lovely ambiance once there.

And, sunrise down here at this time of the year is around 7 o'clock, and most days I am up and ready to face the day.

Reminds me of the movie "Pelican Brief." There's a scene where a truck is parked in the woods for a nefarious assassin who comes ashore nearby and drives it to Washington, D.C. to start doing his dirty work. Did you see anyone like that nearby?

The truck really works on our imagination. Hope your scenario be adopted to the film company and win the Oscar. When no maintenance by humans, nature takes over. The truck look becoming part of nature. I'll make a fantasy out of it.

Now my part of world is like early April for a few days and I’m catching my breath to face the cold again next week. Stay healthy and happy, Lowell.

It is fun to build scenarios in the head about what goes on around us.

It's really very simple, Lowell. The driver is tired. After a late night celebration, he can't keep his eyes open. Being a civic-minded individual and not wanting to cause an accident if he should fall asleep at the wheel, he is taking a much needed siesta. In addition, he doesn't want to let his boss know that he is not working, so he hides the truck while he naps. Therefore, no pay is docked and he keeps the highways safe. Much needed rest is good for the body, too.

I'm sure you are right. It is looking very guilty.

No Academy Award, it wouldn't be able to accept without coming out of hiding and it doesn't want to do that.

The Oscars are coming up. I will keep my eye out for this truck. I bet it will look fabulous on the red carpet!
