The Green Grasshopper

I really don't know what this is. It stayed in place on our driveway for a couple of days. It appears to be some kind of grasshopper. Strange creature.

Oh Crikey! How big was it? You should have put a quarter next to is for scale.

Alien life form, waiting for the right moment to morph and run amok.
I really don't know what it is but the term "leaf hopper" seems to apply since it looks so very much like a leaf and can probably hop.

I think I've seen something similar Lowell, very delicate insects, they sort of sit and sway. You captured a super macro here.

Very cool looking creature! Reminds me of a 'walking stick' -- an insect that looks like a small branch.

Wonderful macro, Lowell !
I've never seen such a creature, with such a green color and a strange, complete different shadow.

That is one strange looking creature. I'm glad you captured (so to speak) for us to see.

Looks like a katydid. A member of the grasshopper family.

As long as they're not coming in droves...

Not very well camouflaged for a driveway, methinks.
