It's that time of year; the citrus fruit is beginning to get ripe. We just need a few more cooler days and these will be ready to pick and eat; usually by the end of December.
Curiously, I had a flock of robins descend on my yard and bird bath today. With temperatures here in the 40's I think they must have stopped off while heading further south, Jacob.
How beautiful, Lowell! Here in Montreal we get cases of clementines that come from Morocco, that are in abundance in grocery and fruit stores, and they are absolutely delicious, and are at their sweetest and juiciest between now and Christmas time.
This makes me think of the time I lived in Phoenix and the orange blossoms would fill the air with fragrance which could at times become overpowering. I don't know if there are enough trees left to have that effect today.
The railroad bridge is part of a park that is under it but isn't part of a trail. We do have several "rails to trails" hiking trails in the area though. I enjoy riding my bike on them.
Must be lovely to pick your own home grown fruit Lowell, do you have much bother with birds and bugs trying to eat them before they are ripe enough to pick?
From the bright orange color, I can imagine the blessing of Florida sun. The tree looks both useful and decorative. Our tangerine has been on the market since October and other kinds will take over from the mid-winter till sour-type citrus gets ripen in early summer. I have “yuzu” citrus tree in my garden of which juice is used as a seasoning like lemons.
My across the street neighbors have a huge orange tree in their side yard and it is loaded. Another neighbor has a big lemon tree that is loaded too. Unfortunately, I don't know either one of them well enough to ask if I can have a few!

We had a very nice orange tree in California that got brutally hammered by a prolonged frost. This one looks very healthy and happy. Enjoy that fruit!
I've got a relatively large one in my back yard. Orange juice galore this year!
Florida oranges are the best.

This makes me think of a holiday somewhere in the south of Europe, one of the Greek islands maybe.

That tree has quite a lot of fruit for such a small tree. I bet if I looked, I'd find some here that are getting ready to be harvested.
