Wells Fargo Bank

This is the interior of a Wells Fargo branch bank. It was a slow day.

We still bank here and the employees are very nice - friendly and helpful, in spite of the fact that many Wells Fargo employees were involved in a huge scam in which they set up fake accounts in order to con customers out of their money.

Another interesting fact is that Trump's pick to serve as Secretary of Labor & Transportation, Elaine Chao, was on the Wells Fargo board while all of this was going on.

I guess it doesn't hurt that she's also married to Mitch McConnell. Don't get me started.

There isn't a single cabinet post nomination that is NOT a horror story.

We quit Wells Fargo this summer after the revelations. When we changed branches last summer upon our move downtown (in Oregon) we got a lot of hard sell, which we ignored and just put down to one overly aggressive banker. But to find out it was the corporate ethic was the final straw. Changing after so many years with one bank was a time consumer... I hope we don't have to do that again.

We also have a Wells Fargo Bank in our small town. Perhaps the local branches were not involved in the account scandals.

We bank local. So far so good.
I agree with Sallie: The entire cabinet is a horror story. A country club of billionaires. I have trouble believing his supporters wanted this but they're still full of adulation.

I could totally repeat the comment made by Lois. *sigh*

I like the interior of this bank, Lowell, the colours are lovely and the decor is nice.

What's to say about that? I'm speechless..

Fake bank accounts and Trump seem to go rather well together in the same sentence ☺

I spent part of my banking career working for Wells Fargo on the IT side, not the retail side. I still bank there too! You know many, many years ago when I worked for a bank called Continental Bank I remember when they introduced "sales techniques" to the staff. I was on the management team so I was one of the first to go to the training. I remember telling my boss that this wasn't a good idea and that it would one day backfire. I didn't realize that it would take 30 years to do it. That was when I changed careers and ended up on the IT side which turned out to be a much better fit for me. (By the way, Continental Bank was gobbled up long ago by a bigger bank which was gobbled up by an even bigger bank and so on until it ended up being Wells Fargo.)

I'm surprised they let you take a pic in there without all the security pouncing on you!

Yes, I've only once photographed inside a bank, and that was after specifically asking.

I have never tried to photograph inside a bank.... Perhaps I should. More and more banks are closing. When I was young it was the safest thing you could do to go for a job in a bank. Well, not anymore.
