Mutt & Jeff

Mutt

and Jeff

Mutt & Jeff were a pair of beloved comic strip characters that I remember from my youth. Rather like Laurel and Hardy, they bumbled their way through life. Mutt was a tall nogoodnik who loved the track. Jeff was a midget-sized character from an insane asylum who, like Mutt, enjoyed horse racing.

You can read more about the duo HERE.

The only relationship these boats have to Mutt and Jeff is that one is tall and one is small.  What else could I call them for cryin' out loud?

What a difference!

You'd think that someone has an ego.

A good looking pair. I will admit that I own a boat similar to the small one! lol

Top Notch seems intent on defying gravity. That's an awful lot of height for the hull. Emphasis on "awful."

Lowell, your pairing of these two photos is perfect, and you have a great name for your post. Yes, I remember Mutt and Jeff. They use to run in the Chicago Tribune in the Sunday comics when I was a kid.

They were great

Haha that is funny, Lowell. Oh here in the Netherlands we know 'Mini and Maxi', a very tall and a very small guy who as a duo do funny sketches in theaters since many decades.

Sometimes I get confused between the emails and the CDP posts of yours. That's the explanation for the double comments, but visiting you in either place is always a pleasure!!

Good comic, my friend. You have achieved a very good relationship.
Buen fin de semana.

I knew exactly why you called them Mutt and Jeff! I guess that dates me.

I remember Mutt & Jeff comics. It is beginning to look like you and me grew up in the same generation.

I smiled at the title of your post, Lowell. Love the humour...and I get it, too. :)

Top Notch is way too tall. Maybe he needs the height to practice high diving. Never heard of Mutt and Jeff but they sound funny.

My girlfriend in high school and I were called Mutt and Jeff for the very same reason. I am the short one---but I have as many bells and whistles as the tall one---haha

I get it! I like boats short and tall -- and I remember that comic strip very well.

Then I’ll call them Chich (the short one) and Sally from Japanese comic book series. Have healthy and happy days ahead, Lowell.
