Seventh-Day Adventist Church

As I'm typing this, the 7th day of this week is winding down so I thought it appropriate I post a picture of a 7th Day Adventist Church. I'm not going to going to go into the theology of this particular denomination other than to say it is a Christian sect, begun by a woman in the 19th century. One of the major features of their belief system is that God wants his people to rest and worship on the 7th day, which is Saturday.

As it happens, one of my golfing buddies is a retired pastor of the 7th Day Adventist denomination. He's also a great guy and we have a lot of fun together even though neither of us is a particularly good golfer.  Okay, to be honest, he's a little bit better than I am.   :)

Very modern look to it.

Lovely capture, Lowell. Nice building, and the trees make a beautiful and perfect frame for it!

Pretty church in beautiful surroundings. Well captured.

Looks like a small building; perhaps it is a small congregation.

We have a number of Seventh Day Adventists in our neighborhood and they're all well educated professionals. I know little about the theology either but do know they don't drink or eat shellfish. Which means when neighbors have gone crabbing and done well there's a smaller group to share them with. We've benefited from that.

I didn't know it was started by a woman. Thank you for my fact of the day :)

In response to your doubts on my post - most of the people sitting at the bus stop must be from the neighbourhood and meeting up on a Sunday morning before going for a cup of tea.

Very small church which I think resembles an office for a professional.

Interesting. Looks like a residential home converted into a church.

This group is known to be in one of the Blue Zones in California. Blue Zones being where people living to be 100 year old, or better. Their diet is of particular note.
