Advertising Gas Pump
This is a gas pump located at one of our local stations. Some moron in marketing got the bright idea that customers would love to watch the news and ads for various products while pumping gas. And the customers, of course, are a "captive" audience...it's perfect.
Not all of the gas stations in Ocala do this, but it's becoming more popular so I expect to see additional stations adopting the idea as time goes by.
For a guy who mutes every ad that shows up on my television, this drives me crazy!

I tend to refer to those who go into that field as Marketing Chimps.
Which is probably an insult- primates are smarter.
It would drive me crazy too!
Ridiculous if you ask me. That's old news, Trump to China. I don't have to worry about those new updated ad gas pumps, they would never fly here. :)
Crazy!
Wish the ads subsidised the fuel/1
I hate advertising on TV, and an glad our gas pumps only pump fuel.
No way to opt out? I'd find myself pouring gas on the screen and looking for a light, particularly if I saw that ugly mug.
A invasão da publicidade.
Um abraço e bom Domingo.

I really don't need to know what's going on in the rest of the world as I stand by the gas pump.
Oh no! I would have to change petrol stations Lowell.. even if they charged higher prices 😀😀
I wouldn't be interested in watching news and adds while pumping gas.
I'm with you on this one. I've seen several of these around town and they annoy the heck out of me. Not only do I not watch any ads on TV, I pretty much watch PBS and Netflix exclusively. I haven't seen a TV ad in ages.
I would probably have to avoid any gas station that did this, especially if that orange buffoon showed up on the screen!
That's awful!! Being from Oregon, I have actually never learned to pump my own gas and as long as Bill will do it for me when we're traveling and here, I don't intend to learn. (I refer you to all the many national editorials lately preaching about Oregon being a Nanny State and its people being too stupid to pump gas. I plead guilty.) By the way, it is far cheaper in Oregon than it is here. Anyway, we have not watched network TV for over a year (except in the occasional sports bar restaurant or airport, where it is background noise) -- Netflix and Amazon only at our house -- can't stand the commercials any more.
One of the gas stations I go to has these installed. Fortunately, they don't play the news. Just the same commercials over and over. I'm not a fan.
