Bealls Outlet Store

Bealls is a name familiar to most Floridians and other people living in the southeastern United States.  It is a retail store operation with many locations, especially in central and south Florida. They sell a good product and their prices are moderate.

This particular store is located in an older shopping center known as Six Gun Plaza.  As I recall, Old West shows were held in this location until the powers that be decided if changed up a bit the center could be a money-maker.

I think they were were overly enthusiastic and possibly did not do a solid business plan, as it never took off as they had hoped.  So, the stores have changed hands and names many times in the past 10-15 years.  This particular spot had been the location of a nice furniture store 10 years ago.

One factoid I find of interest is that Bealls often builds one of their normal retail stores in the same general location as their "outlet" or discount stores.  So, about a block away, in the same Six Gun Plaza, there's another regular Bealls store offering many of the same products but at a higher price.

The same retail plan, or misplan, happens here.

I had not heard of them before so I Googled it. They do have good prices and nice things. It seems odd to locate the outlet and the regular store so close together though.

I wonder if there are people who go to the other Bealls store as if they prefer higher prices..

Who would shop in the higher priced store when you know there is another one nearby with cheaper prices. Oh, excuse me, I must pay top dollar for this item so I will go to the "better" store. How dumb is that. :)

I suppose there are just too many 'malls' scattered around all towns and cities. The one in Burlington has so many empty stores--it is sad. Online buying is part of the blame and no money the rest

Bealls has an odd merchandising philosophy. Why would people be drawn to the higher priced store when they can purchase the same goods at a discount? Hope you Sunday is a good one Lowell.

The powers that be in planning store locations must have a narrow vision. We have the same problems here. One discount store has it full-on store five miles away. Sigh.

What kinds of good products do they sell, may I ask?

Bad planning!

How do you (and Lois Ann) feel about Beall's Bucks? Every time we shop there we get those coupons for an extra discount if you come back at a certain date in a week or two. Good prices, but my closet is only so big! (I might be spoiled, but it seems to me that the stuff in the outlets is kinda' shopworn and old, not the same as the one around the corner.) We don't watch regular TV any more but it used to be a joke to shout out the big news that Beall's was having a sale. Beall's is ALWAYS having a sale.

Gosh that doesn't seem to make much sense having the outlet store so close Lowell, still it looks like it's doing well so what do I know 😀

I bought quite a few things in a Bealls Outlet in Ormond beach when I stayed there, in fact I think I am wearing a T-shirt I got there for only $1, and it's a great T-shirt!!!!
