Dog versus people

The gentleman who owns this truck seems like a nice man who lives in a nice house in a nice neighborhood about a half mile from our house. The sentiment he proclaims on the bumper of his truck is one, I think, that a number of people subscribe to.

Plus je rencontre les hommes
et plus j'aime mon chien ....c'est ce qui est écrit sur la voiture. C'est dur ! Moi je sais que connaître les hommes (et les femmes) est toujours une découverte intéressante et enrichissante !

I absolutely agree, and don't even have a dog. A funny and interesting 'indirect portrait'.
You really have some beautiful plates over there, ours are so plain...

There's a joke I'd heard some time back. "If you threw your best friend and your dog in a trunk of your car and drove around for an hour, who'd be happy to see you when you let them both out?" -- May be the owner of the truck believes in a similar philosophy!

voila un auto-collant qui ne donne pas envie de s'approcher trop près de la voiture.
veiled a sticker which does not give desire to go up too much near of the car.

As a person I find this bumper sticker extremely offensive and not politically correct... first it was a black and white thing, now it is about people and dogs... what is this world coming to?

That may mean he lives in a nice house in a nice neighborhood but he doesn't have nice neighbors. I tend to think like him too.

Dear Shaun...

I'm so sorry you were offended by this bumper sticker! I think you're right tho...the human race has gone to the dogs, or is coming to a doggy end. I'll have to talk to this guy about his anti-human stance. Or maybe I could just sneak over to his house and scrape off the bumper sticker?

Would you be willing to help?

I don't know what this world is coming to...but probably no good, if you know what I mean!

Have a doggone good day! Grr!

Leia - your comment made me think of another old saw: "It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by a bunch of turkeys!"

This goes back to an old saying, "If you get to know people, you learn to love animals." He probably has been disappointed by too many people too often and now he's seeking comfort in cynicism. Whatever the case, there is definitely a lot of truth in this saying.

I too can relate to this bumper sticker. And I think a little homour served to the world like this, is a great way to give people a piece of your mind, instead of just yelling at them:-) In the teachers lounge at my school we have another one: "Don't mind the dogs; beware of the kids!"

Why can't we all just get along!

Dogs love you even if you are not lovable.

OK, I think it IS an omen. I'll look into it. Maybe I could be the first dog lawyer in France? ;-)

Well, of course there are fantastic people all over the world and this sign may not be politically correct, but sometimes it's enough just watching the news to realize how bad humankind can be and how obvious such a sentence is...

Hmmmm. I must admit most dogs are friendly, cuddly, lovable creatures. I'm not sure I can say that about most people. ;-) Well, I think I CAN say bloggers tend to be mighty friendly and lovable, though. ;-)

Lowell said...

@ EG - I was just wondering if you knew any "cuddly" bloggers?

Lowell said...

@ CQ - And your sales/advertising pitch could be:
"You bark, we're at your service."

Does he mean the world is going to the dogs?

I could be true. I liked my horse too. MB

I like the picture (and the license plate), but I do not share this gentleman's sentiment about people because I have met way too many kind people to prefer my dog to them, as much as I love my dog. ;-)

LOl, yes! Only lawyers aren't allowed to advertise in France...
