First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian, which has been around since God made little green apples, (actually 1857), has a more traditional architectural style. It is located close to downtown Ocala, and abuts the Historic District.

The church's website is here.

Three sermons on Sunday morning. Apparently a well-attended church.

Beautiful brick church, this one looks so traditional. When I try to imagine a church for a ceremony, I never think of our type of European churches, but a nice building like this.

Beautiful brickwork and I really love those large arched windows with tiny panes — it has to do with contrasting scale.

Another amazing brick building. Well done!
I've been catching up and found the flower arrangement, the posing squirrel and the stingray just fabulous.

Je vois beaucoup de briques (rouges) dans votre région. Chez nous c'est de la pierre (bleue) !

So many of these shots remind me of small to medium town in Minnesota. There are so many places across the vast nation of ours that are so distinguishable... but in your area, much of the construction seems almost universal (Not all, by any means). It's fun to watch as new things pop up as you can see different parts of the country as influence to their creation.

@ Dan - You know, I think you're right, and that's one reason I like Ocala so much.

Wow, great picture of this cool old brick church. The sign in front is a nice touch.

I have a great love of brick churches with steeples. Which is one reason I enjoyed my vacation in Boston last fall so much! The East Coast churches are much more like this than the ones out here. Though we do have one gorgeous red brick church here in the WWV: St. Patrick's Catholic Church. It's one of my all-time favourites.

Hi Asta...no, I don't think it has a copper roof. There are coppers driving around the streets in squad cars, though. Heh. Heh!

Thanks for all your comments!

This is easier to understand than the other church.... you know.... "that other church" that you posted..... and I am being unecessarily cryptic... which may lead to religious controversy...

Fancy! Love the vivid colors.

Doesn't look that old, guess must have undergone some renovations already. Great structure too.

At first I thought that it had a For Sale sign in front. That would have been a picture!

Beautiful photo! It looks similar to our Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in St. Paul! Kind regards
