The Marion Theater in downtown Ocala is still defunct. I assume these stairs lead to the "stage entrance," but there are no markings. I love stairs and thought these were rather special.
@ Halcyon - I did a post on the Marion theater a while back...it was a movie theater for years...then went kaput...then some folks bought it, renovated it, and tried to do movies, plays, etc., but couldn't make it work...so now it's out of commission again...hopefully, it can be turned into a profitable operation...
Those colors with the red brick and red stairs, the little bit of blue and yellow make this photo really interesting. We have a lot of these "stage doors" around here too, but they're on industrial buildings, not theatres! The fun ones are doors with no stairs or ladder. I'm going to have to do some research there!
I love this shot. The colors are awesome but the contrasting lines really make the whole scene. Old buildings like this have such a charm to them. I love the way they almost tell you their story. One of your finer compositions Jacob. Very nicely done.

You are right: the red of the iron against the many different reds of the brickwork has a very good effect on this image and you 'cut' it beautifully.
Very cool. I like brick buildings and stairs. Have you been inside?
This is KoOL, I like the way the staircase is shot diagonally across the picture. Very nice composition!
wow! stunning visual!

Brickwork is great too... nice picture!
Now there is a decent picture. The red, the diagonal and vertical lines. Great shot. FWI I love Sinatra too, but you don't dig grunge music?

I love this shot Jacob! You did a wonderful job composing it and the color is fabulous.
Neat. Was this a live theater or the moving picture variety?

I too love stairs and these are magnificent. The reds of this photo makes it stand out from the crowd:-)
Reminds me somewhat of the Truman Show where Truman finds a set of stairs which lead him to a door to the outside world. So, where is Truman Burbank?
Well, you've got to hand it to them... Properly painted in matching colour.
THIS is a wonderful shot .. I love stairs/steps almost as much as I love reflections ...
Yes and it's adorable in red!
Great shot!

I love the red brick against the red stairs. I wonder if any famous actors started their careers there?
@ Denise...I don't know about getting his start here, but John Travolta rides his motorcycle by here every once in awhile!
I love how they are painted red too. someone had a nice sense of design. Nice photo Jacob!
I like this shot, Jacob. Red on red.
