Waiting at Macy's

Paddock Mall in Ocala has recently undergone a renovation, part of which included creating "rest areas" where tired shoppers are able to sit and relax, and where husbands can wait in comfort while their wives shop.

This gentleman waited in front of Macy's Department Store for 15-20 minutes until his wife came by carrying several packages, at which point he arose and escorted her to another store in the mall. Or maybe they went home.

the mall out here has very nice seating--comfy too--a person could just go to people watch. MB

That's my place! Not many stores here have these absolutely useful rest areas.

Well this is a nice arrangement! Here in Mumbai the Malls are so crowded that you won't find a single bench empty to sit and relax!! What does JBR stand for?

Well, they are considerate!

Relaxing shot! How long has Gordon been waiting for Gladys? Gordon is probably wondering what you'll have as your JULY theme posting on your daily photo blog . . . .

This scene is repeated here, too. It is usually me doing the sitting, however.

I was sitting just across from him - that's how I got the picture!

These rest areas are a good idea!

What was July's theme again, Leif? My mind just went empty...

@ Kcalpesh - Good question. The store is named Robinson Jewelers, so I'd guess the JB are the first two initials of the person involved.

Hey! It's not only men that sit in those chairs!!! I have often taken a rest while waiting for my husband. :)

Lowell said...

Good point, Halcyon...the truth is that women made use of their chairs as much or more than men.

so sweet
If they're like us, she's really glad he's sitting instead of standing behind her sighing loudly.

What a great scene that we have all know is repeated in stores everywhere.

Aawww, how sweet! That's a mark of a very loving husband!

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Do come back for more of tomorrow and find out where we are going!

Good shot Jacob! I actually do this a lot myself when I go to the mall with my daughter, except I'm usually trying to hold on to her kids at the same time.

He won't need to sit as long at the next place 'cause his wallet is lighter. You always find pix that make me chuckle.

Comfortable mall seating seems like a great idea. ;-)
