Family barbecue

This is what you do when the kids and grandkids drive 300 miles from Ft. Lauderdale just to go swimming and eat.

Rabbit kebabs again?! They say it tastes just like chicken!

It's one of the more satisfying things one can do for the family, isn't it.

@ Safe Leif - Rabbit? Are you kidding? This is Florida. We barbecue alligator and frog legs and an occasional iguana!

I can almost smell it cooking Jacob. Man, you really got the colors right on in this one. Crisp photo.

I know, it's chicken and burgers for the kids and tofu for us!

What's cooking? :-D Tell you this must be really fun!

For almost 3yrs now I've lived in apartments that don't allow barbeques. That one looks just like the one I left behind in California.
That is something I miss.
Oh well I guess I have something to look forward to. :-)

Nothing better... but with a cold beer!

Barbecues are one of my fondest memories of the States, and not for sentimental reasons.

But ya gotta shake 'em out of the trees first, don't ya?
Well enjoy anyway. MB

Oh how fun Jacob! I want that dog and puppy thing there next to your grill by the way.

Looks inviting. I'll be right over.

Certainly they also came to see their wonderful grandparents! The food and pool are just extra bonuses.

Don't laugh about the Iguana, I heard some guy just came out with an Iguana cookbook. I'll stick to burgers, thank you.

I can smell it all the way here in Memphis, yum.

I love family BBQ's. Everyone sits on the deck and talks and play games in the yard. Fun stuff!

What's on the grill for the occasion? Steaks? Catfish? Yum Yum!

Cezar and Léia said...

Hmmm, that seems yummy... In Germany a good thing is that you get all kinds of "wurst" (sausage) to go along with the barbecue.
God bless you!

I love barbecues though my parents didn't so I was always happy when invited elsewhere. You've got my mouth watering despite a bad tummy!

What's a 300 mile drive when there's a good barbecue at stake!

Rose said...

I'll be there in a few minutes--save some for me!

Marie said...

I'd like to have been there too :-)

Marie said...

Or is it "I would have liked to be there" ??? :-))) It's so hot here (no AC) that I think my brain is melting.

Lowell said...

@ Marie - I can't imagine living in a hot place without a/c. If we didn't have a/c in Florida I'd move tomorrow!

LOL! Nice capture. I'm sure they come to see YOU!!!

Jacob, this looks like an advertisement for that grill. It should be in a magazine! The smoke is perfect! - I hope y'all had a wonderful time together!
