Forest High School has been open for business for several years, moving from an old, dated campus. It is a huge facility, and I'd guess takes up 10-20 acres. From what I hear, it is an excellent school with a great staff.
What a nice school. Lucky for your community that you have these. As a former teacher I can appreciate well kept schools like this. I hope what goes on inside is a good. That's what counts. V
Hmmm. Coming from a small town I wonder if I'd want to be a little frog in such a HUGE pond. I think I'd feel a tad anonymous. (Although, perhaps that not such a bad thing.)
@ EG Tour Guide - There are just over 2,100 students in attendance. That's fairly large, but our grandson attended the largest high school in the US, located in Weston, Florida, with close to 5,000!
Jacob, I found this site via Memphis Mojo and I must say that I'm so glad he linked to you. Your talent is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing it with us!
@ Halycon - Yes, this is the largest public high school in Ocala. Forest High School had inhabited an older site closer to downtown for many years, but had outgrown that and thus this complex was built. It is very nice. And from what I hear, it is an excellent school.
@ D - I took these shots a couple of days ago...actually, it was quite busy then, what with a variety of youth football teams in training...but they are out of the photos...
School here starts on Monday, so yes, the place will be buzzing!

The photo brings back memories of a traumatic time in my life. In fact Pink Floyd suddenly came to mind.. "No more teachers, no more books...
I don't know why but "Rock n Roll High School" by the Ramones is stuck in my head.
The photos are like something out of a brochure. Very nice.
What a beautiful school. Looks like they used a brick or two didn't they?
A school, what a relief! And a very nice one with an real auditorium. Most of ours have to share an outdated gym with other schools...
Great looking school
To continue Lees comment "no more teachers dirty looks.......

Good to hear about good schools!
Do they open on Monday? Ft. L schools do.
@ B Squared - Yes.

@ Lee and MB - I'll bet you guys were a riot in class!

That is an impressive looking school! There is a Forrest High School in Jacksonville, as in Nathan Bedford Forrest the Confederate General.
Now this really looks like a school, albeit a huge one.
It looks too tidy to be real!
I hope the kids appreciate what they've got there.

It looks indeed like a great school! Anyway I'm glad I don't go to school anymore... :)
God bless you!

Is this a public school? I don't generally associate schools with "being in business". But perhaps I should!

I like the color of it:)
bet it's a lot busier now than in these pics!

Looks sturdy. And it has to be! It should be strong enough to contain all of the teenage angst and hormones within it.
@ Nikki - I've decided that you are a very smart young lady! You pick up fast on the essence of the photos and make a comment that is right on target!
It's a delight to read what you have to say!
Its actually 80 acres
