Not so modern muffler shop

The building you see is one of those old timey gas stations. On the other side is an outdoor lift. Other than a fresh coat of paint and a nice sign, not much has changed over the years. Perhaps the word, "modern," refers to the product and workmanship rather than the building itself.

The photo was taken with an old Nikon EM - all manual film camera, using old Kodak film.

Gosh, my favorite kinda place since I'm such an auto mechanic kinda guy! Do you put the windshield washer fluid in the muffler or on it?

Looks like even your photography equipment here isn't quite so 'modern' ;)

I like it!

WOW! If you can't find this muffler shop you are in trouble. Glad you drug out the old camera. Film is still cool!

Modernity, modernism, quite an abstract concept.Love the photo, love the fact that it has been taken with an EM, had one myself, years ago. Still have an old Olympus OM10, which I love with all my heart.

So many older gas stations have been utilized as newer businesses. Kinda neat I think. Eye catching paint job!!! Modern pop machine. MB

Modern or not he like to be spotted from faraway, I like the lettering of the sign: it is so not-modern!

@ Safe Leif - Verrrrry funny! I kinda had you pegged for a philosopher and not one of those hands-on guys, like mechanics.

Have a great Sunday!

For a muffler shop, it looks clean. I like that color.

Certainly is colorful, cool capture! I have a Nikon EM (2 of them, actually, I used to use them for hiking because they were light). Also an FM, various Fs --oh, never mind--I don't want to fill up the comment form with a list of cameras! LOL!

It looks like an old place. I bet the color helped catch the eyes of customers over the years. Also Modern Muffler is very easy to remember.

Maybe the owner's hobby is fire engines? What a wonderful bright red. Very cool.

@ Mary Stebbins... Oh, go ahead...I'd list to see a list of your cameras. Then I'll list mine. Are you doing any film these days?

Love the word "modern" in the name. It made me smile. It reminds me of the word "complete" in book titles. Both make my inner voice respond with "Yeah, right!" ;-)

For some reasons you still can't beat good old film. The bright red is awesome! I also like their typo. Cool mechanic shop.

They really wanted to make sure everyone knew they were there with that paint job! I think this is a great name for a place located in such an old building. I'm sure it generates a lot of comments from the customers!

Film?? What's that? LOL I sometimes miss using film, but with as many photos as I take, it's so much cheaper to use Digital. LOVE the result of the film..great photo

That color will sure catch the average person's eyes!

Hmm... it doesn't look so modern but the color is sure eye catching. It's too red to be ignored...

I LOVE THIS SHOT !!!!
It is old school Americana. Fantastic. What a cool old shop. My grandfather used to take me to places like this when I was a kid. With the old fashioned bottle soda machine and the bell that rang when you drove over the hose.....

Thanks for the shot of nostalgia Jacob !
