Love the DOF here. My eye keeps going back and forth from bird to bird, then back again. WHOA, make it stop!
Twins! Are their names Pete and Repete! Just back from a little vaca in Door County, Wisconsin - been there?
@ Safe Leif - Nope! I tried once, but they slammed the door in my face. I didn't think that was very nice, so I went to Floor County, but I can't remember which state that was in...the state of confusion, methinks.Hope you had fun. But, I was wondering where your black eye came from, and Allison said you ran into a door.
Great picture Jacob. I really like their eyes.
Love the Blue and Gold Parrots. Never met one that wasn't photogenic.
I like animal shots and it especially nice to see these parrots close-up. I don't think I'd want them as pets. I know they make quite a mess.
superbe portrait, ils sont tres beaux
You found a Swedish parrot and his clone! This is a far better catch than the houses...
Beautiful and colorful shot !! I love parrots !! This is fantastic Jacob !Unseen Rajasthan
Two old souls.
Love these guys! You captured perfectly their mischievous character sparkling in their eyes!
They're used to being photographed, I think. What handsome creatures.
@ VP - I knew there was a reason I was attracted to these silly birds!
neat picture, great detail and color.
I love the vivid colors, and two for the price of one -- hey, I like a bargain!
Good ol' Paul and Polly Parrot. They are so cute. MB
They look like they are trying to ignore you Jacob! They certainly are beautiful.
Impressive shot. From what distance did you shoot these fellows?
@ Per Stromsjo - These two were on a perch along the main promenade at Silver Springs. They were in the open, untethered, and I got about two feet from them to take this shot. They were quite unruffled by the whole business. I think they are used to funny people carrying funny black boxes which the funny people point at them.
So one parrot said to the other 'that guy with the camera wants a shot, should we preen or pose'?
Great colors and detail!
Those two would stand out in a crowd with all that color. They make a pretty pair.
Espectacular imagen, ese colorido se agradece a la vista, un saludo desde, José luis.
the 2 last post are so colored
Te invito aver mi blog y juzgues el tema de los pixels, para mi seria importante conocer tu opinión, un saludo desde España y gracias.
Not unlike that dog I encountered the other week. Didn't display one iota of interest in what I was up to. Come to think of it, maybe it was a doggie celebrity of sorts?
Ah the Swedes again. Did you have a nice conversation?
These two look like they might be best buddies. Net photo, Jacob!
@ Ciel - Yes, we did. I asked if he Polly wanted a cracker, and he said "Do I look like that kind of parrot?"
Oh they're a beautiful pair & so clear!
Oh, so very beautiful!
Vogon Poet said it!
Those have got to be the two prettiest parrots I have ever seen. I also like your horse banner.
stunning stunning stunning. Bravo!
Wow, they are beautiful. I have dreamed of having a "speaking" parrot since I "met" one in Austin (a colleague of mine there had one that kept talking all the time).
@ Marie - I think a talking parrot would drive one crazy after awhile. How did you like Austin? We have lived in both Dallas and Houston. Much prefer Florida, though.
Beautiful parrot portrait! I like parrots for their intelligence and their ability to imitate voices and sounds. Crazy stuff!
Fantastic shot! The macaws should thank you! :-)
