Griffin's Santa is gone!

You may remember the post about Griffin's, a long-time Ocala store which sold all kinds of crafty things but was forced out of business due to the lack of business.

In front of the store was a sign with Santa hanging from it. Santa hung there all year long. But Santa is gone now. No one knows where. Maybe the North Pole?

Click on the photo if you wish to embiggen.

Probably California. There's a few others there in tight red pants. ;-)

Of course he had to go back to the North Pole. It is that time of year ya know. Maybe Griffin came along and took it. there are a number of possibilities. MB

That Santa was quite a climber! A year long grip with a couple of finger...

He may have gone to look for his thumb....

Gee I hope he wasn't destroyed! He's a beaut! Hopefully he will reappear on some other building someday, somewhere...

Great shot! What a loss now that it's gone. Did I ever tell you that I LOVE your banner?

Alas, his disappearance was perhaps foretold by the vanishing of his little finger. Find that and perhaps you'll find the rest of him. ( :

That Santa is awesome. It makes one wonder with mysteries like that. Where did he go all of the sudden. Changes like that often mean new things are coming.... but who knows anymore. It is scary to see the number of vacant businesses in every part of the country.

I think some "political correctness police" took him away! Santa is missed!

Maybe the Stimulus Package put him back to work.

I'm sure he's just gone back to the North Pole. Where else would Santa go?

Sheesh! Now how will I find him to sit on his knee?

Oh, too bad...he looks so cute there. Maybe he just went for a new paint job and will return. (like when our big cowboy disapeared only to return with newly painted clothes)

Whew, it's a lot of work to climb up and down a million chimneys in one night. Santa must be buff under all that red fur. :-)

@ EG - Do you really kneed to sit on this Santa's knee...could it not be more advantageous to sit on another Santa's knee? ;-)

Oh no! They could have at least left him up there until after the holidays.

Oh no! Sad to hear that another has gone out of business - I'm curious to know what they've done w/ that big ole guy! LoL!

It's sad when the old 'icons' from the past disappear. Things which we have grown up with and been used to seeing. Perhaps the new shop owners have just taken him down for refurbishment and he will return?

@ Tricia - I've no idea, but it's possible if you've been very, very good, he'll head toward Missouri!

Maybe he got sold off to help recover debts for Griffiths; he may reappear elsewhere in your town.

Maybe he will show up on Christmas Eve.

Nice photo. If Santa is at the Pole, I hope he has a good boat this year. It seems I missd a blessed event. I'm looking all over your blogs for it! Congratulations in advance :)

Oh no!! I hope he shows back up before Christmas Eve!

Guess what! Lulu Studio selected my calendar to be sold on Amazon beginning December 9th! Thanks to you Jacob! It never occurred to me to create a calendar until you mentioned it.

I sure hope Santa found a new home somewhere, seriously. It would be sad to find he went to the landfill/recycling.
