Sushi Bistro in downtown Ocala

The Sushi Bistro is a new restaurant in downtown Ocala, located just across from the town square. It is one of several new restaurants designed to revitalize the old downtown area.

I like to see downtowns revitalized. Downtown Memphis underwent that process, and now it's THE place to live. Ordinary condos cost an arm and a leg.

Have you tried it yet?

somehow the word sushi and bistro don't feel to me like they fit together. I understand sushi bar, but then again so much has changed. I'll take some good sashimi as long as its not made from alligator.

It seems that meny 'downtowns' need to be revitalized, so I hope that this process would be successful everywhere. Here it isn't...

This always makes me happy, to see downtowns reviving!

Everyone's doing sushi these days, even the Chinese Restaurants. If it's fresh it's good, or is it the wasabi that I really like?

Lowell said...

@ Antjas - I'm pretty ignorant about things like sushi and wasabi. And I have no desire to eat raw fish so I'll probably stay ignorant... :-)

Lowell said...

@ Lee Spangler - So what's the matter, you got something against alligators?

Heh. Heh. I don't eat anything raw!

If only the "WHALEY" owners could see their 1939 building now. What would they think of its current use.

Great that shops and restaurants are opening.

I guess you have not tried this place yet?

It sounds like sushi is actually the last thing on their list as they advertise beef, chicken, duck, seafood and lobster.

I'm a vegetarian so probably would never enter the new bistro but I'm all for town centres renewing themselves.

Lowell said...

@ Jim K - Nope. Ain't a-gonna, either. No sushi for me!

Is the food good there?

jusdealem said...

No sushi for me either, Jacob! But the building is lovely. :)

Not a fan of the sushi but I see they have other things to enjoy. Nice shot of the place.

Chicken, beef and duck sushis are a novelty! I like the building a lot, any clue as to who Whaley's were?

OK, I'm crossing sushi from the list of edibles for you.

Oooh, I love shushi. When we come down to visit you and warm up, can we go here?

Nice capture. :-D

Lowell said...

@ Ciel - No idea at all.

Lowell said...

@ Ciel - But I'm sure their story would make a whale of a tale!

Lowell said...

@ Marie - I have no idea. And it is highly unlikely that we'll eat there, as I have no inclination to eat sushi and Lois Anne is a vegan!

Boy, this fish story sure got a lot of nibbles.

If you knew sushi, like I knew suschi,,,

Lowell said...

Can you tell me, Mr. la la la Vache, what is the difference between sushi and suschi? Ah, I have it now. Sushi is merely sushi, but suschi you can "c"! ;-)
