Ani's Shabby Shak

Unfortunately, this eclectic little shop in downtown Ocala has gone defunct. In fact, over the past few years, several little shops have opened in this location only to fold after a relatively short time.

The location must have some bad karma.

The dresses are really cute. Too bad they didn't make it. Unfortunately, there is a lot of that going around these days.

Shame it folded -- definitely not too shabby, maybe just unlucky.

Pity, I like the dress with the hearts.

We have some spots like this, with shops coming and going within a few months...

Isn't it funny how some locations just don't make it. There's a place near me that was most recently a shoe store, and now it's a doughnut shop.

I was just goning to say what Bibi said. But not about the doughnut shop. HA! It is odd that even if a location looks good it may not be. MB

We have the same problem in Denmark these years. Some don't have money enought from the start, and then they close after 3 months. It takes time to build up customers!

What a shame. It looks like a cute place.

That's really too bad. Was this a second-hand shop? Looks like it was a fun place while it lasted!

I am sorry for that shop. Here in Spain is happening the same. Some other shops and bars are bought by chinese.

It's sad to see that happen! What a cute name for a shop though.

Some locations just have bad karma .. there's a corner location in the 20s here that has had one after the other restaurant located there and each one goes belly up after a few months.

I think that our economy has bad kharma...too bad about the shop since I like small, independent businesses. Aside: I think that I have bad kharma since I seem to be stumbling and fumbling on the keyboard today (bad shoulder, soon to be under the knife). Hope you got my messages on the other blog site of yours.

I beg to differ with folks blaming bad karma. The Chinese would say the location has bad fengshui (wind-water, loosely translated as geomancy). And I've heard to many firsthand stories to dismiss it completely.

Sorry about the shop. We say here: as you name the boat, so it will sail.
