I hope so, because Dr. Doug Shearer is our vet! He's fantastic and saved Haley's life a few years back. He's also against uncontrolled urban sprawl, which in Ocala is destroying too much of our beautiful countryside. A Democrat and a Republican were already in the race, so Dr. Shearer is running as a member of the Whig Party.
I'd never heard of the Whig Party, either. You'll have to Google that one!
He just might win. It seems that every horse farm/ranch in the county has posted one or more of his signs.

All the best!
There seems to be no controlling of urban sprawl where I live. Toronto is growing so fast that the Province of Ontario has told the towns in the Greater Toronto Area that they MUST grow.
Our municipal elections are on Monday the 25th. I have very strong opinions about who I want to win.
I'd vote for him if I thought he was qualified. Seems that his clients think so! Must confess that I'm getting mighty tired of this election; just filled in my absentee ballot, and off it goes.
Urban sprawl...doesn't seem that you can get away from it. I hate what it has done to my morning drive to work.
Hey if he's kind to animals then he has to be a good people person, kind too.
I am sure you had heard of the whig party---you must remember american History--after all you were part of it. Wasn't Lincoln a Whig? Or was that just a wig he was wearing? I guess now I am going to have to look it up. LOL
Good for your vet. It is nice that real people get involved.
Whigs and Tories, sir. At least in my part of the world.
Well... you know what I keep saying about more and more constructions...
The Whig Party is old, but then there is The Modern Whig Party, Wikipedia told!
For both I like they chose taking usefull politics from Democrats as well as Republicans; who needs Tea Party??
It is that time again. I'm having a hard time figuring out what politicians really WILL do and really did NOT do. We live in slanderous, dichotomized times!
I support him!

Why not? If an actor can be president, a Vet can hold office too. I knew about the Whig party but haven't heard anything about it in a long, long time. Interesting choice.
I just don't want to talk politics; it's become SO very very depressing and disappointing. Where has the sanity gone? But if I were an American Dem, I sure would be voting this election. Never heard of the Whig Party (and I question the wisdom of the name), but your Tea Party folks are scary. Very scary. Oops... got into the politics... sorry, Jacob. A vet is as good as anyone if s/he is using a brain, not just knee-jerk party-line reactions. [Off the soapbox now.]
I think it's important that he's taking a stand. Bystanders have no business moaning and whining. So more power to him!
