"Pray"

These signs were all over town several months ago. Then they disappeared. Now, they're back. They're all the same which makes me think it is the work of one person who feels some sort of need to tell people what to do. The only problem, there's no mention as to whom one should pray, or what the subject matter of the prayer should be, or the reason for this exhortation.

I've been praying, to whomever will listen, that whoever is doing this find some other, less obnoxious activity to fill his/her time.

I quess someone thought people needed reminding of what goes on in a church.

There have been similar injunctions for years re hundreds of problems. Prayer vigils with thousands of people have prayed for rain and got a drought. Others pray for peace and more war came, Prayers for finding a plane and so far that hasn’t been answered. I was under the impression that God is all powerful and sees and hears everything, so I must believe He already knows about all these problems. He knows that abortions, same sex marriages, drug use, too much alcohol, gluttony, gambling crime, murders, perversions, etc are going on all over the world and even in America, God’s special place but they continue unabated.

Perhaps He would prefer we solve our own problems by each person behaving well and leave God out of it. He will do as He wants and might be listening to worse problems in some foreign country where they do not even speak English but deserve help more than we do. Hey, it could happen! He does move in mysterious ways, we are told.

Too much time on their hands I guess.

Annoying to be told what to do without even a shred of a sense of humor or class. I hope YOUR prayer comes true. (No sign ordinances in Ocala?)

The church itself looks nice.

I have always had a hard time with prayer. I find no answers. MB

Looks more like a command than a request!

Strange, but I have seen something similar here and I see that I have the same thoughts about it as you do.

Please, get some paint and add "for Birdman". That'll get some heads scratchin'.

Birdman's comment had me laughing out loud.
My prayer thoughts run in the same direction as yours.

I am sure it says 'prat'. They have to write a bit better to be more convincing...

I find this sign less distressing than some of the others you have posted here!

I think the artist in this sign writer should find a more creative outlet. I'm thinking perhaps of velvet Jesus paintings he or she could sell at church bazaars.
