The boat, "Shirley," became a hiding place for this gull. The boat, bobbing gently in the waves, provided a certain amount of protection for the bird who had sought out its own special place far from the maddening crowd!

This gull is no bird brain. He knows a good resting spot when he sees one.
Perhaps the gull's name was "shirley". Who knows. It was a free ride.

I am always attracted to empty rowboats and this one is even more appealing because of its passenger.
It does look pretty cosy in there Lowell, the gentle rocking of the boat tres soothing.. that seagull is a smart cookie ☺
Curious. I don't think I've ever seen a seagull actually sit in a boat. Flyby -- of course. Perch -- naturally! But, sit? Very unusual. Good eye!

This gull seems to know how to recharge himself apart from his group. Or does he have a physical problem? Bird's entrance on a boat is unusual.
