Mudpie

Mudpie is a relatively new store in our relatively small shopping mall. From the outside, Mudpie appears to be a place where women and children can buy clothing along with photo frames and other sundry items.

There's nothing wrong with that, but I fail to understand why anyone would name a store "Mudpie." That's not much of a step above "cowpie," and I've stepped in a few of them in my life.  Not fun!

Yes, the name is strange for a mall.

It appears to be a store with a very eclectic inventory. PS. You REALLY got fired up about my post on the Wooddale Church. I probably should have suppled some of the historical info that you so generously provided!

You had me laughing on the cowpie, Lowell! LOL! Nice facade, thank you so much for sharing.

I could go for a little blackberry pie. Or Dutch apple pie. Mud? Not so much.

You pose an excellent question here. When I first looked at the photo I thought maybe it was an ice cream or snack store. Mudpie might be a more appropriate name for a store like that.

It is an odd name for a shop.

Do not think I would go near a store named "Mudpie" unless there was chocolate involved.

hehe :) Maybe they just wanted to be original..

I was thinking it was an ice cream place for some reason!

Mudpie is definitely a weird name for this kind of shop. Originally thought it was an ice cream place.

Mudpie, mudpie ... I can't translate it to Dutch. First thought is: a cake of dirt? Can you help me :-)

I used to make mudpies when I was a kid. I thought the same as RedPat, that it might be an ice cream place!

Mudpie should be the name of a pottery.

I find stores like this confusing. I like them to be more specialized in something... and the name is weird.

There are some strange shop names which make us puzzled or confused. This is one of them. Maybe they wanted to be original.
