Feeding at Silver Springs Park

Silver Springs Park is one of the "old" tourist attractions in Florida. Located on the east side of Ocala, it sits above a huge underground spring that releases thousands of gallons of water in the Silver River daily. Six of the original Tarzan movies were filmed here, as well as many others, including Smokey and the Bandit 3. Additionally, a number TV shows, such as "Sea Hunt" were filmed at Silver Springs Park.

There's a nice summary of the history of the park and a listing of all the movies and television shows filmed at Silver Springs Park here.

Beautiful picture and I love the white ibises! OK now I have to get a picture of Wakulla Springs on my blog. A couple of Tarzan movies were filmed there too and also Airport '77. It's not as famous as Silver Springs though.

Beautiful location, Jacob. Good feeling of seasons with those trees in background. The air must be very clear and peaceful.

The park looks beautiful and I can understand why it would be a popular location for movies. And your photo is beautiful too, especially with those delicate-looking white birds.

Uh, what are they? I'm next to useless when it comes to flora and fauna.

Hilda: The birds are very common in Florida; they are Ibises.

Thanks for stopping by to all of you today! Have a wonderful weekend!

I love ibises all elegant birds of that type. I saw some yesterday, but different ones, at the étang du Méjean near montpellier. I think egrets are the same family ???
Beautiful photos.
