For some years there has been a Horse and Hounds restaurant on Highway 27 a few miles west of Ocala. This is a brand new one, just about ready to open on Silver Springs Boulevard on the east side of town.
Horse and Hounds is an interesting name for a restaurant, but reflects, I suppose the horse "culture" of our area. We'll be visiting it as soon as it's open for business.

un beau restaurant, c'est une ancienne chasse à cour.
a nice restaurant is an old hunting court.
So, I gather you eat horse and dog? Or game maybe? ;-))
Okay, I'm hoping this is where you go to relax and eat after a long day of riding horses and hunting with hounds. Otherwise, the name is scaring me.
Looks inviting. Hope the food is good.
Very interesting Jacob!
Your picture is amazing!I liked that doorway!

@ CQ - You're so silly! Lois Anne eats no meat. I eat no beef.
This place looks nice. Have you tried any of the (non-meat) fare?
@ Halcyon - No, because the restaurant hasn't opened yet. But we will!
humm you'll tell us about their menu !
Keep us posted, the place looks fine.
As long as that doesn't reflect the menu, should be good. Let us know.
Wish a grand opnening and that they will produce a tasty meal for you both, Jacob.
Looks like a nice place. Hope they do well in this economy!
Horse and Hounds - that sounds very English!

All of your comments are very much appreciated. Lois wondered about the viability of this new restaurant. I have the same question. I don't understand why we have new shopping centers going up when business is so bad...
Old Navy, which I've heard is bankrupt or nearly so, just opened a new store in Heathbrook Mall...so did Dillards, which is also in trouble.
Makes no sense to me. And last night I heard that Florida developers are pushing for the right to build thousands of new homes all over Florida! How can they do that when we've got hundreds of thousands of foreclosed homes sitting vacant?
It boggles the mind to see big box businesses opening.
Jacob, I think the only way to see the building going on is that it's all about the money. Purely.
After all teh closing stores and restaurant we see all around,it's nice to see some "openings happening"!!
