Mannequin risque

I know, I know, you could find this kind of thing in any city, not just Ocala. But, hey, I found it in Ocala! At Dillards Department Store. And while it may be a bit unusual, it certainly gets one's attention.

That's Dillards Deparment Store on Hwy 200. A new, upscale emporium. They'll happily relieve you of your money in exchange for quality goods.

This is a very cool shot...her face looks almost 2-D...quite eerie! I love it!

Always good to know that someone stands ready to relieve me of my money. And there's something vaguely familiar about those colours.

Sometimes mannequins are very interesting :) Today, I've met two 'naked' mannequins with sentence: "Total clearance sale". They sell also the mannequins clothes...

cela me rappelle une chanson de Taxi Girl (groupe New Wave Français des années 1980)
"Mannequin derrière la vitrine,
Attends tout seul ce soir.
Mannequin derrière la vitrine,
Qui cache ses yeux d’ivoire.
Mannequin derrière la vitrine,
Et plus personne à croire.
Mannequin derrière la vitrine,
Tu passes sans même me voir."

it reminds me a song of Taxi Girl (a group of French New Wave 1980)
"Mannequin behind the window,
Wait just this evening.
Mannequin behind the window,
Who hides his eyes ivory.
Mannequin behind the window,
And no one to believe.
Mannequin behind the window,
you spend without me. "

Advertisements that catch attention! But I'm not sure who's the target audience in this case..... :-)

Nice find.

Okay, Jacob, we can found dummies around the world. The whole trick is to pick the right spot and press the shutter release.
For that reason a high compliment!

It surely got my attention as a photo.

@ Small City Scenes - Computers can drive you crazy; there's one blog in Asia that refused to allow me to leave a comment, too.

Very frustrating, but it's nice to see you back!

Lowell said...

@ Olivier - Thank you! The lyrics fit so well...

I think she's winking at you Jacob!

She's a good find. (Who makes these mannequins? I'd love to hear the discussuins that go on in the design department.)

That's a funny shot Jacob!

Lowell said...

@ Frank - That's a really good question. And it would be interesting to hear how they come to the decision to make this particular one...

Becky said...

Interesting! I personally am not a fan of Dillards, but I know a lot of people are...otherwise they wouldn't be such a big chain!

Saretta said...

I don't think it's too hard to imagine how they came to the decision to make this mannequin this way...come on, take a guess! LOL!

Ah lol, Jacob, relieving us, huh? Yeah, that's what they do and don't we often willingly submit? I really like this colourful and dare I say sexy shot?!
I also have to laugh at Olivier... Good grief, Taxi Girl... My teenage years!

I think my computer hates me, I keep having problems getting to certain pages. I can't believe how many of your posts I've missed!
All things being equal that's a great photograph, the lighting and the composition are wonderful. Anyway, I'm glad to see Ocala is still with us/me.

What can I say? They're simply depicting what's already out there. I was at a shop the other day and I wanted to tell the cashier that part of her breasts were showing as she bent down to count the cash in the register and the guy in front of me certainly enjoyed the view!

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Sorry for the glitch - again. I appreciate your patience. Come back tomorrow for more of Fairhaven!

Very funny photo!!

That's funny! I don't like the new mannequins that Old Navy is using in their commercials and stores. I guess they are saving a lot of money not having live models.

Funny or Sexy? I like it, it has bright color.
