Ocala City Hall

While our city hall doesn't match the gorgeous old ornate buildings one can find in Europe, we think it is a fairly attractive structure.

I love your concept of daily photos. Specially because the world gets to see what you've just seen. And this way may be I won't miss the places which I otherwise might not get to visit in my life :-) Great work!

Can I have you connected through google friend connect?

Thanks for the link to the museum. I think the cypress in front of the building is attractive and expresses the feeling of the South and adds greatly to the picture.

c'est une belle structure, on dirait qu'elle est en bois ?

it is a beautiful structure, it looks like it is wood?

Our old buildings are often unsafe, difficult to climatize, dirty and covered by scaffoldings. Beautiful to see but of no practical use and expensive to maintain...
Short version: I love your neat city hall!

Very attractive. I wish some of our modern buildings in Europe would be that nice, seriously!

You are right, it is very atractive. Our country is just not old enought to have buildings like Europe, although Florida has the oldest city in the US. MB

It is a stately building with symmetry. The lawn looks golf course quality.

When I saw the thumbnail in the portal, I thought it was just a humongous house. I like it as a city hall — seems very approachable, if you know what I mean.

That's a nice looking building!

I do think it's a nice building. Those arches and the windows make it very open and inviting.

In another hundred years or so, who knows?

Lowell said...

@ B Squared - Hadn't thought about that...hmmm...probably because nothing lasts more than about 20-30 years around here before it falls down or they tear it down...

@ arts - Thanks for your kind words. I don't know from Google friends? You'll have to explain that to me.

How strong is the trend to have columns out the front- in parts of the south perhaps, I've noticed a few such places and there's Gone with the Wind and its memories, although the location differs I guess.

And the people who work inside enjoy great light from all the windows, not always the case in older buildings!!

Hi Jacob, thanks for visiting my Astoria blog. You can see all you need to from the base of the column, and there's a nice easy road to get there! From the tower you get a different perspective and feel more like an eagle :) I'm enjoying your blogs since I'm not a warm-weather girl, but I love to see the images.

You are right, Jacob. It's a neat looking city hall. Nice angle.

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come back tomorrow for the last photo in the Keukenhof series!

Lovely building indeed. Lets see - new windows/door - but it still struck me as 'old South Beach' ... Very good and crisp shot. Poor beautiful, graceful oak won't see many more storms. Thanks.

The old ornate stuff can be a bit heavy sometimes, this gives a light, welcoming feeling. Well snapped.

I rather like the selection of trees:D

Beautiful shot Jacob. Nice angle and inclusion of the tree ads to the whole picture.

That really is very different. Looks like great minds are thinking alike, as I featured Glasgow's city chambers today.

Lowell said...

@ Jackie - I'm sure you're right about "great minds," and if you'll check you'll see I made a comment on your post re: Glasgow's city chambers relative to this post.
