St. Mary's Baptist Church

First of all, I'm having a very difficult time accessing City Daily Photo, and an even harder time accessing the portal, and if I am able to get on the portal, I cannot bring up most of the blogs. I understand others are having the same problem. So, if I do not comment as usual, it's not that I've forgotten, but rather that I'm unable to get to your blog to do so.

I've left a message in the forum, but nothing seems to have changed over the past few days.

The church in the photo is something of an anomaly to me. It is one of a couple hundred Baptist churches in our area, but I didn't think Baptists recognized "saints," and especially the Virgin Mary.

Very interesting!

So simple and white, a no-frills church, you could even handle the bell. I like the way you shooted this lovely building with a perfect perspective.

About the portal same problems here, if you use direct links or bookmarks it's a bit better, but it's not easy to upload images or edit posts.

Oh hey, you're right! If my Bible Baptist pastor of a brother sees this, he'll go into conniptions!

Yup, been having way too much difficulty with CDP too. I haven't been using it to visit either. And I've removed the CDP javascript on my blog — I just replaced it with the logo and link — because even that's causing blogs to load so slowly.

We have several of these here too, and I never thought about that!

I haven't been able to access the portal AT ALL for two or three days now. I wouldn't know about saints -well, I do, they're everywhere here- but not in the various American churches. I do, however, think this is a lovely little church and I love the bell!

Same problem here. Interesting church. Seems like each church has a little different take on things. We are seeing it more every day here. Hope the portal is up and running soon, I'm starting to shake.

I will never understand churches. I will never add to a religion.

I love these little churches! I read about the cdp problem on Marley's this morning, hope they fix it soon!

That is an odd name for a Baptist Church.
I'm having the same problem and some blogs are loading too slow.

This is a nice little church, but you're right about the name. In Denmark we also use saint's names for our Protestant churches, but that is due to tradition from when the churches were Catholic.

Does seem like a strange name for a Baptist Church, but - as you probably already know - there are many different kinds of Baptists so maybe this church belongs to a group that does recognize saints. (?)

I'm having trouble with the City Daily photos too.

Others already phrased this well. No-frills, delightful in its simplicity. Would be interesting to see the inside as well.

I thought saints were a Catholic thing?

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come back tomorrow for the penultimate photo in the Keukenhof series!

I love this cute little church. That is interesting about the name - a mystery!

PS: I just checked the CDP website and it's working ok for me.

@ Halcyon - Yes, I got an email from CDP; it appears all is well. It's working for me, too. Yeah!

It IS unusual for a Baptist congregation to be named for a 'saint' particularly Mary, who usually belongs to a whole different group

Hopefully the accessing problems have been fixed as I was haveing problems too.

I love little Churches...and all the sunshine in your photos.

Do you know any history about that bell? Love this photo. Hope your Internet troubles are better now. I am so reliant on it, when something goes awry, so do I! :)

@ Bj - I know nothing of the bell. We drive by this church frequently, but I've never seen anyone there...maybe only on Sundays.

Yes, all is well with CDP. Evidently, they were having problems with their servers, but it's running beautifully now.
