A fruit & veggie stand

Just north of the city, on Highway 441, there stands this fruit and veggie stand. We bought a few tomatoes. They were quite good. We've seen customers at this fruit and veggie stand every time we've driven by. We'll go back again.

You've certainly captured summer in this photo. Vegetable stand, watermelons, colorful shade umbrellas. Nice capture.

I wish we had more of these in Ft. L. Too much city not enough country any more.

I've never had green boiled and cajun watermelon before! How do they taste?

Green boiled Cajun Watermelon? Very interesting. Love the colors. Fresh fruit and veggies can't be beat. MB

@ Small City Scenes - Methinks there is a "Peanuts" sign up there somewhere...

Lowell said...

@ Safe Leif - Like an Eagan squash!

Those are some beautiful colors in that photo Jacob! I assume that sign is referring to peanuts and I would have to buy some if I stopped there!

Those melons look delicious! I think they taste better when they've been out in the sun a little bit.

Wonderful colors, Jacob.

Great photo. Great angle and the color is amazing. Watermelon is luscious but I'll take my uncooked, thank you.

I love local food stands. My dad always got berries and melons (along with tomatoes and onions and corn) from the local vendors on his way home from work when I was a kid.

The colours in this shot are very vibrant! Love it.

That looks like a wonderful place. Just last night I had the best tomato I'd ever tasted.

The color pops off the page in this picture.

Delicious fruit stand! Very colorful! Is it usually possible to sample the fruit?

I love the sky, and colors, but what I really WANT is to buy the sign. Someday I'll have an old barn with huge empty walls and I'll cover it in roadside fruit/veggie signs. All handpainted. (Is there actually a modern factory someplace churning these out to delight us?)

LoL! That comment you left on my page cracked me up! Thank you - I needed that!

Fantastic colours! So cheerful!

The bright and cheerful display certainly got my attention! And your word-of0mouth endorsement almost (ALMOST) has convinced me to drive all the way to Florida to shop there too. ;-)

Beautiful photos!

I'd stop there. Looks at that watermelon.

@ EG - I think you probably have better fruit and veggie stands where you live...you could fly to Florida, though! ;-)

Lowell said...

@ Buenos Aires - Often at a stand like this they will have pieces of the various fruits cut for people to taste...

Lowell said...

@ Lois - You are right! The sign does refer to peanuts...

@ Frank - No factory. No machine could do these signs properly!

@ Karen - You are funny!

WOW !!!
This picture just pops off the screen. Amazing colors.
I love the composition as well. It s these scenes you share that really show the Florida beauty.

I have not been there is no many years. I need to get back someday soon.
