The Lady & the Vagabond plus the Pixel Perfect Award

These two were photographically captured at the Paddock Mall in Ocala. I do not know if they were friends or not, but they remained in conversation for quite some time. Then, the young lady went back to her job peddling rejuvenation pills from the Dead Sea.

The Pixel Perfect Award has been awarded to Hilda at My Manila. Hilda's beautiful photography exemplifies perfectly what this award is all about. And as most of us know, Hilda is a strong supporter of CDP and is always willing to help any blogger in need of information or assistance.

The Pixel Perfect award is given to a photo blogger who exhibits exceptional photographic skill in terms of artistic creativity, composition, sharpness and exposure. The criteria for receiving this award also includes a commitment to the City Daily Photo community.

Congratulations to Hilda. Please check out her beautiful blog here.

I have some catching up to do! The horses shot with the film were gorgeous! So beautiful. The masks freaked me out! The strangers above are great, she is totally flirting...great capture!

To answer your question, yes! I have thought about it...that would be so wonderful! Thank you for your comment. We'll see :)

Congratulations on Hilda's award - she definitely deserves it!

Speaking of awards, I guess I get an award for having more blog followers than Jacob Meister - 107 for Jacob and 108 for EAGAN daily photo! You're soooo close, Jacob . . . .

A big congratulations to Hilda. Probably the most deserving person I could think of too. One of the best blogs out there.

I like this nice double portrait and your relative comment, especially in the final remark!

Maybe he's one of her rejuvenated customers...and is actually 105. I love capturing shots like this, and you did yours well.

I don't believe in rejuvenation pills....but did you see the film "Cocoon"? I love that movie.

Selling rejuvination pills from the dead sea sounds like an interesting job. I wonder if she has much success.

Congrats to Hilda on the award!

Nice shot, you can read whatever you want into it.

Look how comfortable they are, as if they were in the privacy of a livingroom instead of in the middle of a mall. Fascinating.

Wow, Jacob and Lois Anne, this is an absolutely wonderful and unexpected surprise! I mean, you know that I only use a tiny camera and you've seen the ones I admire for their photography — I'm not even close! You are excellent photographers yourselves, so to receive this award from you is a truly great honor. Thank you!

Rejuvenation pills from the Dead Sea sounds mighty intriguing. Love how you caught the two.

Well deserved award for Hilda. She was the first to welcome me to CDP.

I love capturing people unawares.

@ Hilda - Please note all the comments that come in regarding your award...you are very loved in the CDP community.

And, as one of my photographic "heroes" says, it's not the camera! It's the person behind the camera... You prove that over and over again with photos that are done to perfection. Yes, you are close to those you admire!

Enjoy!

Your photo of the couple is so telling. She's communicating so much with her look and smile and he is obviously of interest to her with all the body language. Good shot.

Hilda is a fantastic choice for your award. Through thick and thin, Hilda always delivers terrific photographs and strong, well written and informational copy to accompany it. Congrats to Hilda. Thanks Jacob and Lois Anne for recognizing her now for her CDP commitment and accomplishments from Manila.

@ Bibi - Yes, I saw Cocoon...at the time, I thought those people looked so old. Now they don't look that old at all!

Lois said...

I love Hilda's blog! Congratulations to her. Those Dead Sea people can get rather aggressive at the malls here. They are always trying to put lotion on me or do my nails. I hate that!

Jacob, I left some notes for you on the comments for Fort Clatsop. I think you're right. It was the end of the trail for L & C, and the books probably said something like, "They wintered near the Pacific Ocean and started their journey back home." Boring. But it gets more intersting as you are on the spot. I think that besides being a miserably wet and cold winter, it was fairly uneventful in that they got along reasonably well with the Indians and took a lot of field notes. They also trekked a long ways to the coast and then south and set up a salt works.

WEll I hope you followed her and bought me a boatload of those pills. I"ll pay you back, I swear! Then again, maybe I'm just weird, but who wants to take anything with the word "DEAD" in it! :)

@ Ciel - I think her mother told her that when she's on a sofa with a young man, her feet need to be on or close to the ground!

Jacob, since you have an interest in Lewis & Clark, here's a post from 2001 with more photos. It's two digital cameras ago, but I think you'll enjoy the pix: http://sheryltodd.blogspot.com/2001/07/july-25-warrenton-fort-clatsop.html

@ Tapirgal - Thank you for this link! I left a more detailed comment on that post but I'd urge anyone with an historical interest to follow the link to your delightful and enriching post!

This is a great candid shot. Scenes like this are probably my favorite style of photography.

Candid shots like this are not easy. You did a great job capturing the moment.
