Is this a real place? I can't help but feeling it looks like a computer generated real estate model! Are those real people or just plastic figurines? Help!
Wouldn't an aerial shot of a golf course be interesting about now, with the super green golf areas with the dead outgrowth? Hook your para-harness to the back of your jacked up golf cart and tell Lois Anne to "put the pedal to the metal" and see if you can get that shot, J! If that doesn't get you the "Blogger of the Year Award", I don't know what would!
I totally forgot what I was going to say after I read that first comment! It does look more like a desert to me than Florida. Our weatherman is saying we might get a few snowflakes in the morning. It sure is cold enough!
Looks like a wonderful place to stroll around (if I knew how to hit a ball!) The one above is lovely too (I know I said so, but I just looked at it again).
Jacob, I have two things to say about ice fishing--for me, it's most fun in a group--and we sang songs and built a fire on the ice and cleaned and cooked the fish right there/
BB says the men who sit out there all day are hen-picked and go out there to get away from nagging wives--I don't know if that's true.
I thought this was the Ocala Daily Photo site out of Florida but obviously I have reached the planet Iota Geminorum IV since tribbles are only found there.

Give me some hair, long beautiful hair . . .
Looks like a bunch of hippies passed out at a concert.
It's not hard to tell which way the wind was blowing. I'd like to have it at my back if I were teeing off. I need all the help I can get!
I'm thinking something went wrong and now some heads will roll. :)
Nice shot. Interesting, too. I've looked and looked and can't figure out what the hairy stuff in the foreground is.
@ Barb - Very funny!
Looks like the Triffids from Star Trek decided to spend their holiday on your golf course.
LOOK! A wig farm! A bumper crop!
amazing capture!
Is that a hair? pretty cool indeed..
clever idea..
warm greeting from bandung Indonesia, a new comunity member
surprenant, devant on dirait des perruques ;)
Whoa!! Looks like a bunch of hairy bowling balls. Weird but interesting. MB

I know nothing about golf... What kind of mysterious beasts are these and what is their use in the game? Are they sleeping or hybernating?
Ha! Bfarr and Brattcat said it all. I too think it looks like an invasion of alien hippies!
I agree with Barb, it looks like lot's of wigs!Like many heads in a concert of rock , maybe!
Different and beautiful picture!
Léia :)
@ VP - I don't know what these are...I think they would be green except for the damn cold weather we've had!
I'll see if I can find out. They're all over the golf course and I think they're quite attractive ... sort of ...
Do they call that the "grassy head hole" - hole #10?

Looks more like Arizona than Ocala.

Probably never find the ball in there. Might as well pack up and go home.
A different type of upkeep would be needed here, I think. Can you imagine trying to hit a golf ball our of all that 'hair?'
I need to learn how to golf! What a place!
A Cousin It convention?
Tribbles, you are infested with Tribbles! Now we know what the aliens in an earlier photo brought with them.
(Cool shot. Hard to play golf - or drive a golf cart on -on though.)

This 'grass' looks amazing! Love the way you composed this one.
Ahhh, every course needs some wheaty-grass. Nice shot!
The march of the furry whatsits.
I actually like this desert like background. I would like it even more without the golf course in ze background.
Oh wow, it look like some animal's hair...I can get my allergic rhinitis out there.
Hmm fried up candy floss? hehe.
is that new golf course in the making?
Oooh, that's a rough golf course - needs a trim. Just kidding - beautiful photo.
Dry grass, Desert, Oasis and then a jungle... all in sequence :-D Very nicely framed!!

Holy schmoly! You guys have some awful looking rough surrounding the fairways and greens.

LoL! It looks like a bunch of 'ITS' out there lying on the ground, ya know that long haired thing on The Adams Family - cousin IT!
That looks amazing, Jacob, just astonishing the way you caught the DOF.
Unique!!!
:) Very nice angle. I like the contrast between the hairy foreground and the neat and manicured lawn of the gold course. Great composition.
