Main Entrance to Brownwood Town Square - The Villages, Florida

Brownwood, the 3rd and newest of the hometowns in the Villages, is designed around a "western" theme. I've always thought the Brownwood hometown square resembled a rodeo arena. There are several entrances to the square - this is the main or at least the most elaborate one.

Of course, John Ford would have pointed out there were no palm trees in Westerns.

Or it could be a pow wow grounds at one of our Indian reservations. This is a surprising theme of their architectural style.

Elaborate it is indeed, but I'd feel like I was at a rodeo if I lived there, but then you know what a weirdo I am!! Great shot though, as always!!

Does anything actually happen here? Or is it all just decorative?

That's kind of strange....I don't think I'd like to live there.

Uhm. Does Mickey come out to welcome visitors? Or would that be an animated John Wayne?

Back to the good old days, when The white hats always won! Yeah. Let's go live in an adult Disneyland. ( I like visiting ...Disneyland or Brownwoid ... But I am afraid if I lived there I'd completely lose my weak hold on reality )

Very western, except for those palms! It reminds me of Frontierland at Disney.

Reminds me of the entrance to the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley!

At first glance it almost looks like the entrance to a fort Lowell :)

That is a very rustic looking entrance. But, I'm guessing the houses are anything but rustic.

I feel like I'm going backwards in time looking at this.

I'm not sure I would like this particular village. Western? Why would anyone want to go to Florida and live in a place that looks like Nevada with palms?

I completely agree with Jack!
