Along the Trilogy Trail

The riding/biking/hiking trail in Ocala's Trilogy Resort was initially planned to be 21 miles in length when completed.  But someone pointed out that was not physically possible, so the powers-that-be decided to measure the length of the trail in "furlongs" which is appropriate because horse races are measured in furlongs and this is horse racing country. Furthermore, the Trilogy resort is being built on land that was, at one time, a horse farm.

One furlong equals 1/8th of a mile. Some mornings we ride our bikes 5 miles or more which means we ride 40 plus furlongs. But the Trilogy Resort is just getting started so it is likely that eventually the trail will stretch out to 120 or more furlongs.

This section of the trail is near the entrance gate.

How lucky you are that they are building this trail!

It's nice to have such a pretty trail to enjoy every day. You've created a very nice scene in this photo.

The trail sounds longer measured in furlongs, but that is a poor way to sound like they have a long bike/hike trail. You really do have the best flowers in your area.

Have fun on that trail!

That will be nice when it's done and completed. Maybe you'll be the first to bike the distance of the trail. :)

That is a fine looking stretch with the flowers. I also like your new header!

Nice header...and a nice looking trail however it may be measured (how about in bicycle wheel rotations?).

It looks like a beautiful place to walk, be it a furlong or a mile.

What a nice trail blessed with pink flowers. I wonder if they are Florida Wildflowers you covered in the past post.
