Hawk on Fence

This beautiful bird rolled slowly with the clouds in the sky above our house; probably looking for dinner.  Unexpectedly, it swooped down and landed on the fence that borders our property.

I often mention how important it is to have a camera handy for just such occasions.  But, unfortunately, I'd forgotten my own advice and had to run into another room to pick up the first camera I saw which was a Canon S95 point and shoot.

The Canon is an excellent camera, but not good enough on this occasion which explains the poor quality of the picture.  But I hope you are able, nonetheless, to see the glory of this bird, this predator, this master of the sky.

What a great photo. Where are our cameras when we need them? When I met Richard Nixon, I didn't have my camera with me!

Great job! Birds are not easy to capture, but here is that wonderful raptor, waiting for you and posing!

What kind of hawk is that?

I do not any problem with the quality of this photo. It is just fine. The hawk is magnificent. So glad he came for a visit and you were able to capture his image. Hawks do an excellent job of reducing rodent populations.

I think this is a great photo. What a gorgeous bird. You are so lucky he didn't fly away just as you raised the camera. That's what would have happened to me.
