Operating on the belief that they need to get 'em when they're young, Trinity Baptist Church in Ocala has a very active youth program. This is an outlying building which appears to be dedicated to their minor, as opposed to adult, members.
I took the photo mainly because of the brilliant colors, especially as found in the blue awning.

If I were a kid, it would appeal to me. I love the vibrant colors -- nice shot!
That blue is definitely brilliant. Interesting accessory on a brick building. If you hadn't told us what this is, by looking at the "Kids Zone" sign I would have guessed it was one of those pizza, video game birthday nightmare for parents restaurants.
Bonjour Jacob ! Le soutien-gorge et le string, en cote de mailles, c'était juste pour rire !
brightly attractive! perfect to attract!
l'enseigne fait très année 1960.
the sign makes very year 1960.
Agreed with the color part of your note. The colors are actually looking very stunning! Great shot!
I think this is a good idea and a nice program.
By the way the I like the contrast of the colorful awning with the reddish brickwork.
That is interesting...almost subversive, since it has the kid-catch of looking somewhat like a Burger King sign...
I guess they will do what they got to do. I love the blue awning. I might go just for that. LOl MB
The trick has always been in keeping them. I like the colors, too.
Before I read it, I was thinking it was a place I would avoid like Chuck Cheese. No rug rats please. Then I read it was part of a Church. DOH.
Pretty, perfect, purple, people place!
Jacob, I like your detached commentary.
I'm sure the parents among the congregation really appreciate it.
Love the blue awning too!
That is a gorgeous shade of blue!
This is maybe a bit too much for me. What exactly does the KidsZone include?
Hi Halcyon - I'm not sure...I expect it consists of a variety of things: classrooms, play areas, different kinds of games...
Your right about the colors. They really pop off the image.... but not just the awning. The green of the grass, the yellow and red of the sign...
It is a great contrast to the subtle colors of the brick and the sky. It would be hard to miss that is for certain.
Love the blues! The Baptist church here has a huge, seperate youth building, too. They have a full court gym for basketball that doubles as a skating rink (they even have those brown skate rental skates for use!) Pool tables, ping pong, etc, etc...They definetly try to keep them occupied and busy!
Hard to believe this is a church building. They really have decided to go bright, colorful retail in their approach. But, is it working I wonder?
@ Safe Leif - purple, burple. Please see you local optometrist asap! Sheesh!
Hi, Jacob! No need to publish this comment at all — I'm just too lazy to open my email and I'm about to go to bed.
Thank you for the vote of confidence, but I didn't write any of the exhibit notes! I took photos of the write-ups in the Ateneo Art Gallery and just copied them in my blog. I'll have to find out who the writer is just for you! :)
Good night-y!
Hilda
While I am not into any form of organized religion, I do think that anything that gives kids a direction/purpose and keeps them off the streets is a good thing ..
@ Bibi - You betcha!
Beautiful colors. And so clean.................
Ca alors, I had not understood it was a church. I thought it was a fastfood restaurant :-))
@ Hilda - I'd guess you're deep in dreamland by now...but, even if you didn't write these particular notes, my comments still stand as I've read your other writings, and you are very skilled...
Sleep well!
That's sure to catch kids' attention!
I'm thinking the church is clever to make the entrance way so attractive. It does look inviting.
Now my blogger friend Jacob Meister, might I suggest "Folgers" instead?
: - )
The color of the grass is not bad either!!
wish mine looked like that!!!
You're a little sassy today, Mr. Jacob-the-Blogger! Just the way I like you:)
You're right about the awning; it's dazzling! How inviting for the little folks.

@ Lee - a lesson that churches and other institutions have learned very well!
