I now there were a lots of tears when he walked through that door. It is such a strange, sad and uncertain time when dad is away in some foreign land. The uncertainty of the experience is impossible to describe and this family's holidays will be so joyous this year.
I was just standing on the beach watching a sail boat and a freighter when the sun starting to get lower in the sky so what I saw is what you get.
Regarding my Mother--she is fine. At 93 she is just starting to slow down and wishes her home would sell so she could move over near me. Little does she know i want to keep taking that ferry boat ride to her house. LOL MB
We've got a political feminist party these days. I'm sure they'd have a word or two about this gender-biased celebration. The rest of us can simply rejoice.
We have a close family friend who just arrived in Kabul, Afghanistan for 6 months tour of duty! I guess his wife and their 3 young sons will also tie up such a sign on their front porch!

wow, dude.
Glad he survived.
Let's all hope he gets to stay home permanently. Enough is enough, already.
I'll be glad when all the troops are home.
What a great shot! I'll bet they are going to have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Now that's a welcome!!! I'm sure there will be a happy family in that home tonight!
Yeah. Always a good thing to be home, especially from the war.
Now there is a very happy house! I know how they feel to have a loved one come home safe and sound from a war. I'm glad for them.
Great Shot Jacob !!! Touching and heart felt. What a wonderful scene.

Hello--again.

@ Small City Scenes - I like what you saw and I got!
Your mother sounds like a wonder. I can thoroughly understand about the ferry ride, too...you've taken some magnificent shots on that boat trip!
But I'm sure that you'll be happy to have her closer to you.
Have a great day!
What a welcome!
Hmmm, makes you think, huh?
Lucky daddy, lucky family! They all should come home.
Awesome photo, Jacob. Yes, it will be a wonderful day when all of the daddies can come home.

Hallelujah!
an amazing feeling for the kids at home .... well caught ....
I bet that is one happy home! Makes me smile just to look at it.
YAY! Definitely a happy home--thank goodness.
What a happy sight, even from here the joy is obvious.
How wonderful! Looks like they were ready to celebrate.
Glad to see that!
Bad enough that daddy had to go at all. Most men aren't the same anymore after they had been to war.
