This post could also be titled "Tree Tumour" for my UK and Canadian friends. Take your pick.
It is obvious the tree died. It also seems obvious it died from this huge, very hard, tumor (tumour) found inside of it.
Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

That is one huge it in the tree's stomach.
Ah, you always get the wild and funny ones as well as the beautiful and wise ones and you do know how to make my day!!!
I laughed! Just too funny. Thanks for the two spellings. I've lived in England for 40 years now and since I've retired I have noticed that my spelling is slipping back to my former American ways...and my accent is more American now too. (Just throwing that in for no particular reason :).)
Someone got creative!
That has to hurt! ;-)
LOL Lowell! I had to smile at the two spellings, as you added tumour for us Canadians and the Brits. :)
Poor tree!
Poor tree. But notice the new growth next to the tumor/tumour? Obviously it's regenerating. (If you accept my story, I'll accept yours!)
I think that a meteor (meteour, Eng spelling?) fell on it!
Poor tree!
It looks rather suspicious to me, I suspect foul play ;-)
Could get a starring role in Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree."

An interesting post, but I am always confused by this o-ou thing...
Are you sure that wasn't kidney stones? ;-)
I think the tree was betwqeen a rock and a~~~you know the rest.
BTW: The little girl in the superimposed image is Bob's Great grand---as if we are old enough for that!!

That's sort of the kind of thing I might have told my kids once upon a time ;). "Yeah mom OK then (. ... Is there an emoticon for eye roll? )"
Haha! enjoyed reading above comments on this one Lowell :)
I like your tale, Lowell, and I'm sure it's the truth. Yep, I'm sure.
