Rainbow in an afternoon storm...

It was late afternoon and a thunderstorm was passing through and I looked out the window and saw this across the fields behind our house. The photo was taken with one of my small Sony cameras, but the zoom worked and I was able to hold it steady enough so the shot came out fairly well.

Lovely! Did you go looking for the pot of gold?

The pot of gold lay near!

Perhaps this was the result of Hurricane Matthew? Hope you did not get too much rain or wind..

Bravo! See? It doesn't take too much to get nice shots hand held! Deep breath (and not too much coffee) and there you go!

That's quite a shot. It looks like that rainbow is right in your neighbor's back yard.

Nice one Lowell. If you're looking for the pot of gold, it's over here on my end. :)

Such a serene scene Lowell.. Hard to imagine there was even a hint of a hurricane not so far away!

Wow! You have a nice view behind your house! Are there horses there to look at too?

I love rainbows! Don't see them as often now that we don't live on the Lake here in Oregon.

Very nice shot. I seem to prefer my small Nikon at times and my phone works quite well too. I just didn't know.
Glad you all are safe but so sad for the rest of the area.
