I took this photo earlier this evening with the partial moon almost directly overhead.

Beautiful moon. A moon shot eludes us! Why don't you link it to Skywatch Friday?

Jacob, photographers heart beats faster at the sight on your stunning photo of crescent moon. It's the merry moon of May.
A nice weekend to all of you.

Now that's what I call a shadow shot! What mm lens did you use to get all that detail? Just fantastic.

Out of this world. Would be a fascinating hobby to 'do' the night skies. Recently saw a little local exhibition of similar glorious works although some would have been via a telescope.

I want to add an old German songtext:

The moon has risen,
the tiny golden stars shine in the heavens bright and clear; the forest stands dark and silent,
and from the meadows climbs a
wondrous white mist.

How still is the world, and in the veil of twilight,
as comfortable and lovely
as a quiet chamber, where the misery of the day you will sleep away and forget.

Do you see the moon standing there?
There is only half of it to see, and yet
it is round, and fair! So it is with many things
that we mock confidently,
Because our eyes see them not.

(Eveningsong by Matthias Claudius - 1773)

Awesome picture! You are so talented!

@ Denise - Thank you Ms. Jelonek...I really appreciate your comment as I know you are a renowned Colorado photographer! Perhaps I should mention people can look at some of your photos by heading to jelonekphotos.com.

I won't mention that you're our daughter, though!

Have a great day!

Great shot of the moon. I've never been able to get a detailed one like that. What kind of lens did you use?

Lowell said...

@ Risa - A Nikon DX 300mm.
