Still playing golf up here as well. The weather has been above average and many courses are squeezing the last greens fees before the dreaded white stuff falls.

Aah, waiting for golf, the game of the affluent. Not quite the same as waiting for bowling. Lovely photo.
That mailbox below is not ostentatious enough.

many people to play the wait will be important

I'm usually waiting for the ball to drop. Very nice shot here Jacob. Keep on enjoying that sun down there.

avec ce temps, on peut se permettre d'attendre, en plus de jouer, on bronze ;o)

Beautiful image, very nice place. I don't know much of golf but I guess there is a lot of waiting going on...

Jilly said...

Now that's original. A nice choice and what a beautiful place.

I guess golfers do a lot of waiting (aside from walking). Do you play?

Kate said...

Well, these folks will not have to do much WAITING for spring to golf, will they. Envy your pleasant weather!

In college I took golf as part of a P.E. requirement, and was told I had an excellent swing and that I should take up golf. I didn't, because it didn't appeal to me. Maybe I missed a good career, and we woule be neighbors!

--for your note about my comment yesterday, so that's where you are! Is that by any chance the pool in the film??

Difficult theme actually, but you've got it good!

I think to play this game,it's really important to be patient and to know how to wait in a comfortable way "body and mind"and to be serene and positive thinking about the little ball in the right path! :)
humm it's getting complicated, anyway...You understood, I hope! LOL

LOL, hope you dont get behind someone like me. It could be a long wait.

Lucky you to have several sites to post your 'waiting' images. It was hard narrowing it down wasn't it? It's remarkable how many ways we can interpret 'waiting' and how often we find ourselves 'waiting' or observe others doing the same.

Golf is a game played by many doctors since it requires a lot of patients.

Do you get a short nap in while waiting on a golf course? Nice shot. MB

Jacob, nice choice and we have not seen any golf photos for theme day.

Halcyon said...

Yay!!! I'm glad to see that you haven't given up the game. I hate waiting though. It ruins my rhythm. Wonderful choice for the theme day!!!

Wow.... I am as green with jealousy as that grass. What a beautiful scene. I really do miss color.
It's gonna be a long winter.

A beautiful place and a gorgeous day to be waiting!

This seems perfect! When I think of Florida in December, I think of golf. And when I think of golf, I think of standing around...waiting.

Must be nice! That is a great photo for the theme day in your city. Not hard to wait in a pretty setting like that.

@ B Squared - Ha, ha, ha, ha! That is very funny and right on. Golf is also good for the egotist as it helps him/her come to grips with utter failure!

Excellent illustration ...

With such a weather, wouldn't mind waiting!!!

Excellent shot. I'm impatient, I'm going for a walk.

I don't play the game myself but I often watch the best players on TV and there's often a lot of waiting. Nice one for the theme day.

Lowell said...

@ Ciel - Some famous golfer once said, "Golf is a good walk, spoiled!"

Marie said...

The photo is very beautiful. I'm sure golf is a very good way to relax and forget about one's works and one's daily problems. But I don't like to be kept waiting :-)))

Lowell said...

@ Bibi - No, this could not be the pool in the film, as this pool is just a few years old. The Stone Creek wasn't even a dream when Cocoon was made...I think the Cocoon pool was located in South Florida, probably in Miami Beach. I'd have to watch it again to be sure, though.

Lowell said...

@ Hilda - I haven't played for a few years; when I first retired I played almost every day. But I'm planning to give it another try...

Mo said...

Tiger is doing a lot of waiting too

Lowell said...

@ Mo - Methinks Tiger screwed up badly. But, then again, none of us know the real story.

Lachezar said...

Seems like the perfect day for a round of golf, and what a beautiful golf course! Great image for today's theme!
thanks for the visit and kind comment!

Antjas said...

If you can appreciate your beautiful surroundings, that is good, but if you're still fuming about the triple bogie you just had because you had to wait on those slow players, that's bad.

Lowell said...

@ Antjas - How come you know me so well?

Louis la Vache said...

«Louis» has a tough time playing golf... seems there's a problem with the lack of opposable thumbs, just for starters....

Mary Stebbins Taitt said...

I always miss the themes! :-(

DUH!

Cool capture, here, Jacob!

PJ said...

So you're a golfer, Jacob. Any insights on Tiger Woods' new use for drivers, or should I say, his wife's?

Lowell said...

@ Paula - Well, you have to keep your eye on the ball! If you fail to do so, you might miss the most important thing, could even fall down, and possibly get seriously injured.

Lowell said...

@ Louis - Just hoof it, la Vache!

BlossomFlowerGirl said...

Ah, golf - the game played by Presidents, old blokes and the wealthy in baggy plus fours and funny hats!:-) I've been told the 19th hole is the most popular. Lovely photo with brilliant colour and so clear.

One might really notice the waiting time in a situation like this!
