The Amelia Island Marina

This photo was taken several months ago when we were on a day trip to Amelia Island. Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach are beautiful places and I was afraid Hurricane Irma might have done significant damage. But after a bit of research, I found that the island had been spared the worst of it. There were power lines down, trees down, some damage to homes, etc., but these boats, if they were tied in the same place during the hurricane, are probably still there and looking good.

So many people have lost so much during these hurricanes - it must be devastating!
I think you may be right about the fishing!

The owners must take good care of them.

It looks so peaceful there Lowell, it's hard to imagine the possible chaos Irma brought. I love those wonderful reflections.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Nice reflections. I can't get over how top heavy some of the boats in your region are...anyhow, I do hope they're all still okay, not parked unwillingly on someone's inland lawn.

Good to know these boats survived the hurricane. Recent hurricanes have destroyed so many boats.

So glad Amelia Island was spared as I know it is one of your favorite places.

I've been watching the news and Key West seems like it had almost total destruction and poor Puerto Rico. Two nightmare storms back to back, scary stuff.

That is a beautiful shot Lowell. The water is so still, it almost looks like glass. Fernandina Beach has always been a favorite of mine. When I was a kid, my family used to rent a beach house there sometimes in the summer. Lots of fun times with my cousins!

I'm glad to know this!! Now that we know (or think we know anyway) that our place in Ft M is pretty much OK, I've gone from worrying it to worrying about our favorite places to go -- both in and around Ft Myers and places where we've taken day or overnight trips.....

Beautiful marina scenery with reflections. Good for the island, if it avoided the worst of the damages by the hurricane. I think I know how you love the island from the past posts.

So quiet and so clear.
A very nice and peaceful image.
